Good OCD Joke

Just back from my third session at the The Mighty Maudsley. It was simultaneously tough and helpful.

Anyway, let me impart to you a nice little story told to me by my clinical psychologist:

There are two men on a long train journey sitting in a carriage together. One of the men is sitting next to the window, and holding a piece of paper. He spends his time ripping off tiny pieces from the sheet of paper, rolling them into tiny balls, and throwing them out of the window.

After a couple of hours of watching this, the other man can hold his tongue no longer. "What the hell are you doing?", he demands. "Why are you throwing tiny balls of paper out of the window?"

"It's to keep the elephants off the track."

"What are you talking about? We're in England. There are no elephants on the track!"

"Exactly. It works."

Maybe you have to be an obsessive compulsive to get it but, if you are, it's pretty damn funny.
